The rider
A cyclist shaped by the Mediterranean with his eyes set on the international elite.
Héctor Álvarez was born in 2006 in Benidorm and grew up in Alfàs del Pi, in the heart of the Valencian Community, a region with a deep cycling culture where he took his first pedal strokes surrounded by local clubs.
From the junior category he began to stand out for a complete rider profile: strong on the climbs, fast in a sprint and with race awareness rare for his age. That versatility made him one of the great promises of Spanish cycling.
In the under-23 category he confirmed his progression with a bronze medal at the European Road Championship and a Top-10 at the World Championships. At just 18 he stepped up to the professional ranks, showing the offensive and brave style of a true classics rider.
